Welcome to BMW-Brilliance

EMBARK TO THE FUTURE,COLLABORATE TO GROW

Over the past few decades, BMW Brilliance has experienced significant growth alongside China’s economy. As an integral part of the Chinese industrial ecosystem, BMW Brilliance has forged close collaboration with our partners, jointly creating opportunities and achieving mutual growth. Looking ahead, BMW Brilliance’s development concept is aligned with China’s innovation focus, the “New Quality Productive Forces,” and incorporates digitalisation, electrification, and sustainability into our core business.

We understand sustainability is a complex challenge that requires multidisciplinary solutions. Deeper collaboration is therefore critical. Through knowledge sharing, talent development, and technology we can break down barriers, spark innovation, and accelerate progress. BMW Brilliance will continue to contribute to society by bringing systematic change to the automotive sector in three aspects – decarbonisation, circularity, and stakeholder engagement.
We have passed numerous milestones on China’s journey to carbon neutrality, and we are well-prepared to play our role in contributing to meeting this challenge.
In the face of accelerating change in the world, BMW Brilliance remains steadfast in our commitment to sustainability. Our sustainable development strategy continuously adapts to the evolving business environment and external challenges.
At the BMW Brilliance, we align ourselves with China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets, as well as those of the BMW Group. To scale-up our decarbonisation efforts, we advocate for transparency and accountability across the value chain - from the sourcing of raw materials to production, facility management, distribution logistics, and sales of the vehicle.

Circular economy redefines resources. At the core of BMW’s design concept lies a commitment to strengthening circularity. This practice, aligned with the BMW Group’s initiatives, emphasises the use of recyclable and innovative materials.
We embrace the circular economy as a key approach for designing more resource-efficient vehicles. As an alternative to traditional linear economies, the idea is to find the best way to keep materials in circulation, ensuring resources are not lost but retain their value for long-term use.

Sustainable Product Design

Promote circularity across the entire product lifecycle, guided by the principles of the circular economy.

Explore the development of bio-based materials using tea leaves, as well as the application of surface spray-free materials in interior parts, lightweight materials, and surface laser engraving technology.

Promote Secondary Materials Usage

Strengthen our collaboration with suppliers to optimise transaction flow through standardised processes and enhanced coordination with the central departments to accelerate remanufacturing development cycles, further increasing the efficiency of material recycling and vehicle parts turnover.

Expand ongoing research and design investments for remanufactured parts to include starters, alternators, and electrical drive units.

Circularity in the Supply Chain

Advance circular economy principles through efficient resource use, waste minimisation, and sustainable production/consumption patterns.

Continue to increase the use of secondary materials in our vehicles by working closely with our supplier partners.

At Home in China, Responsibility First

Aligned with the“At Home in China, Responsibility First”strategy, BMW has established deep roots in China over the past 30 years, demonstrating its commitment to the country’s culture, ecological environment, and people.

Since launching its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in China, BMW has actively addressed key societal issues such as“traditional cultural protection”, “biodiversity conservation”, and “children’s traffic safety education”, leading the way in continuously creating concrete value for Chinese society.

In 2007, BMW launched the "BMW China Culture Journey", becoming the first auto company in China to advocate the preservation of traditional Chinese culture. BMW leads the innovation of intangible cultural heritage preservation and supports initiatives promoting and protecting the Grand Canal culture. The program has funded 421 intangible cultural heritage projects, trained and empowered nearly 1,000 inheritors.

In 2021, BMW launched the "BMW Beautiful Homeland Initiative", becoming the first auto company in China focused on biodiversity conservation. This program supports the construction of ecological civilisation and national parks in China and includes donations to the Liaoning Liaohekou National Nature Reserve and Shandong Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve.

In 2005, BMW launched the “BMW Children’s Traffic Safety Education”. It has since led public welfare initiatives surrounding children's traffic safety education within the Chinese auto industry for 20 years with innovative contributions. This ongoing program has benefited more than 100 million people so far.

In 2011, BMW JOY Home was officially launched to engage BMW associates, dealers, customers and caring members of society across the country in helping children. It is a BMW exclusive stakeholder engagement program tailored to the social issue of disadvantaged children in China. This program aims to provide children from underdeveloped areas with equal development opportunities and further improve the development of the children in China’s underdeveloped areas.
