(Zhuhai) On January 25, 2024, the all-new BMW 5 Series is officially launched in China. The BMW 5 Series has undergone eight generations, consistently serving as the backbone of the BMW brand. The fourth generation with a long wheelbase is specially tailored for the Chinese market. As the world's most successful mid-size premium executive sedan, the all-new BMW 5 Series adopts an unprecedented breakthrough design in its segment and sets new standards for intelligence, premium, and comfort, aligning with BMW's flagship models.

The all-new BMW 5 Series comes with dual offering (ICE and BEV) as well as LWB and SWB variants, includes: the all-new BMW 5 Series LWB (all-new BMW 525Li/530Li), the BMW 5 SWB (all-new BMW 525i), the first-ever BMW i5 LWB (first-ever BMW i5 eDrive35L), and the first-ever BMW i5 (BMW i5 M60). Two packages are available: the Premium Package and the M Sport Package. The lineup includes a total of 12 models. The suggested retail price ranges from RMB 439,900 to RMB 639,900.

The All-New BMW 5 Series Sets a New benchmark for Premium Configurations and Personalization, Meeting Customers Diverse Demands

To meet the diverse demands of Chinese customers, the all-new BMW 5 Series comes with dual offering, providing an array of choices. Among the all-electric models, BMW i5 eDrive35L offers a maximum output power of 210 kilowatts and a peak torque of 410 N·m. Taking the 5 Series' sporting performance to a new height, BMW i5 M60 boasts a maximum output power of 442 kilowatts and a peak torque of 795 N·m, aligning with the performance of the previous-generation BMW M5. The excitation synchronous motor equipped in the BMW i5 is a proprietary development by BMW, featuring high integration, modularity, and sustainability. Its peak power sustains without deterioration, outperforming permanent magnet synchronous motors in mid-to-high-speed acceleration scenarios. The ICE models are equipped with BMW Group's latest generation Inline-Four-Cylinder Engine. The all-new BMW 530Li boasts a maximum output power of 190 kilowatts and a peak torque of 400 N·m; and the 48V mild hybrid technology is employed to assist the combustion engine.

The all-new BMW 5 Series provides an extensive range of paint options, launching with nine color choices, including three customized colors. The M Sport package includes exclusive design features such as prominent front air intakes, eye-catching black side skirts, a diffuser-equipped rear bumper, and 19-inch M Lightweight Alloy Wheels. On the other hand, the Premium Package accentuates a discreet yet opulent overall experience, with the interior boasting dark textured matte white wax wood trim. Details such as the 19-inch two-tone wheels contribute to crafting a unique ambiance.

The new BMW 5 Series LWB, as a model born for China, has been customized in a more in-depth and all-round way. In addition to the longer wheelbase, it also offers exclusive styling, colour schemes, equipment and localized digital applications. In addition, for the first time ever, Titanium Bronze is inlaid in the BMW 5 Series’ dashboard, and the body can be adorned with a matte gold finish, creating an exquisite image. Another exclusive design element is the newly interpreted Hofmeister Kink, featuring the illuminated "5" on C-pillar, a special hallmark tailored exclusively for the Chinese market. When initiating charging for the first-ever BMW i5 LWB, the "5" briefly pulsates, signaling that it’s charging. A robust research and development testing system, crafting outstanding premium quality, and ensuring delivery of high-quality vehicles to users

Produced in China, the all-new BMW 5 Series provides customers with benchmark-level premium quality, conceived through a robust research and development system, stringent validation testing, advanced manufacturing processes, and a commitment to meeting high standards, tastes, and pursuit of quality of Chinese customers. Over 200 testing vehicles of the all-new long-wheelbase BMW 5 Series underwent extensive road tests covering a total distance of 240,000 kilometers. The testing footprint spanned a geographical spectrum from 22° to 50° north latitude (Zhuhai to Yakeshi) and 89° to 123° east longitude (Turpan to Shenyang). Throughout the journey, the vehicles endured temperatures ranging from a frigid minus 40°C to a sweltering plus 46°C. Meanwhile, the vehicle underwent more than 40 comprehensive performance tests, with over 1,000 software testing versions. Enduring a year-long stint of demanding tests and routine winter driving in the Arctic ice fields, the new vehicle emerged victorious. The fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology triumphed over the unforgiving cold, guaranteeing that BMW i5 delivers outstanding range performance and reduced charging times even in the harshest low-temperature conditions. Before series production, the model not only underwent "arduous" journey in R&D and validation tests but also carried out a year-long full-process pilot production of over 1,000 cars to guarantee high quality experience for users.
