Beijing. On March 31, 2022, BMW launches its all-new BMW X5 with MSRP of RMB 605,000-775,000. It’s the first time BMW X5 is made in China. The all-new BMW X5 has a robust and striking design, with an ingeniously luxury interior and user-friendly digital innovations as well as BMW’s typical outstanding dynamic performance. It is the new flagship of the BMW's locally produced lineup. The all-new BMW X5 not only opens the new chapter of the prestige of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment’s founder, but also further enriches BMW's locally produced lineup.

Holistic upgrade for creating an extraordinary premium mobility experience.

Design upgrade: BMW X design language further evolved for a more robust and muscular presence. Inheriting the iconic body proportion of an SAV, the all-new BMW X5 also incorporates more fashionable design elements. The air intakes on both sides of the front bumper are entirely rethought. The inverted L shapes give the front a more imposing look, while the chrome accents also add an exquisite touch. The wheelbase increasing to 3,105 mm not only guarantees a more generous rear space, but lends an elegant touch to the car’s silhouette. In addition, the new car offers M Sport Package as standard and optional M Performance Package. Together they bring about an ultimate display of BMW’s most sporty M elements on the car’s robust exterior, exuding the vehicle’s sporty dynamics to its fullest.

Luxury upgrade: dual-luxury impact by visual and touch for a pleasant journey. The All New BMW X5 features a modern and elegant design language, chrome buttons in high-gloss on the steering wheel and the inside of the doors, metallic covers of the Harman Kardon audio system, premium glass applications in the interior, as well as luxurious sensory ambient light system. These design elements make the new car a visual enjoyment of luxury for Chinese customers. Particularly the light carpet, intelligent ambient lighting and panoramic glass sunroof together bring a visually stunning and immersive driving experience.

The China exclusive comfort seats equipped in the all-new BMW X5 offer an outstanding premium touch. The seats adopt premium Sensafin upholstery as an upgrade from the previous Sensatec 2.0 material, ensuring sufficient comfort, softness and support. In addition to position control, the backrest width, waist support and headrest of front seats can all be adjusted electrically. Door handle and armrest heating, as well as seat heating and ventilation are also available. The rear seat now comes with a backrest angle extended up to 31 degrees, comfort headrests, a newly designed armrest and seat heating to maximize riding comfort.

Performance upgrade: a new drive system with robust body and chassis structure to create outstanding dynamic performance in various road conditions. Powered by the globally award-winning 3.0L inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, the all-new BMW X5 xDrive 40Li model has a maximum output of 245 kW and a peak torque of 450 Nm, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds and boast a top speed of 238 km/h. The new model also comes with a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine to further meet customer demands in the Chinese market. This engine variant can crank out a maximum output of 180 kW and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The all-new BMW X5 not only has excellent dynamic performance, but an improved fuel efficiency in contrast to the imported model. The WLTC fuel consumption for the 30Li model is as low as 8.9 liters per 100 km; the figure for the 40Li model with a 48V mild hybrid system is only 9.3 liters as well. The sophisticated combination of the reinforced light-weight body structure, the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, the air suspension and the electronic damper control ensures that the longer-wheelbase all-new BMW X5 offers uncompromised driving experience with distinct SAV characteristics.

Cutting-edge technologies: intelligent digital technologies for a connected, convenient and safe space on wheels. Embodying BMW’s achievements in digital connectivity, the all-new BMW X5 is equipped with the company’s pioneering intelligent technologies and configurations. The dual 12.3-inch high-definition instrument cluster and central screen featuring touchscreen function, BMW Head Up Display, BMW iDrive and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant create diversified and individualized human-vehicle interaction. With innovative pressing, welding, painting and assembling technologies, as well as an unwavering dedication to quality, BMW will present to Chinese consumers a perfect masterpiece.

Compared to the overseas version of BMW X5, the localized all-new BMW X5 is produced using a variety of advanced technologies. The press shop for the all-new BMW X5 utilizes a world-class press line with total pressing force of over 10,000 tons. The body shop are installed more than ten giant robots named “TITAN” with a loading capacity of up to 1.3 tons, these robot giants are exclusively prepared for the under body production of the X5, the largest Body-in-White ever locally produced. In addition, paint shop and assembly shop also adopt industry-leading manufacturing technologies. Advanced technologies are the cornerstone for high quality products. The BMW Group’s strict quality standards are a strong assurance to a worry-free driving experience for customers as well. Before the start of production, extensive R&D test, computer simulation test and real-car test also ensure that every all-new BMW X5 is of top quality when volume production starts.
