The Training Center will provide BMW Brilliance with a sustainable flow of high-quality management talent and technical personnel.
BMW Global Training Standards for New Automotive Manufacturing Trends
Covering an area of 13,525 square meters, the BMW Brilliance Training Center provides all types of training, including technical training, leadership training, the Future Talent Development Program, and the New Vocational Education Program. Each functional training area is independent but also connected to each other. The Training Center has the capacity to provide training to 40,000 people each year, deliver more than 1,500 training sessions per year, and train up to 600 individuals at a time.
To aid in the development of intelligent manufacturing talent, the Training Center features world-leading manufacturing hardware and software facilities, and combines BMW global technical resources with local training resources to offer professional trainings for current and future talents, in line with BMW standard. The cutting-edge technology education areas include robot training systems, advanced control consoles, CNC, TIA 1500 and other digital systems used at BMW plants. This coordination of equipment enables students to improve their operational and technical levels quickly and comprehensively. In addition to the high-standard training facilities, the Training Center also includes a coffee bar, reading corner and other multi-functional areas, creating an inspiring and comfortable environment for students.
Dual Education System Develops Talents for High-End Manufacturing
As China undergoes industrial upgrading, the demand for technical talents has surged, and vocational education has become an important part of the national education system and human resource development. As early as 2006, BMW launched its New Vocational Education Program – a forward-looking and comprehensive vocational education program in China inspired by Germany's advanced dual education system. The vocational education area in the Training Center showcases the best practice of the integration of the German dual-system vocational education concept with the local vocational education situation in China.
The New Vocational Education Program has been continuously updated according to the technological development and production needs of BMW’s Shenyang production base, setting the standard for automotive industry vocational education. In 2019, electronic automation technology training was added to the original three principal training areas of mechatronics, industrial machinery, and automobile repair, to ensure the New Vocational Education Program develops talent with a comprehensive knowledge of digital production. Hundreds of outstanding graduates from the New Vocational Education Program have begun careers at BMW’s Shenyang production base and contributed to a strong and highly-qualified workforce.
BMW has always believed that associates are an important driving force for the company's sustainable growth and the foundation of the company’s high-quality development. In its 18 years of development in China, BMW Brilliance has established a comprehensive talent training system to offer professional trainings for current and future talents. Through the Training Center, BMW will continue to develop high-end manufacturing talents and support the upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry with a strong reserve of high-quality industrial technical talents.
