Beijing. On September 10th, the enticingly new BMW iX3 is nationally launched. The new model comes in 2 variants with the MSRP at 399,900 RMB and 439,900 RMB respectively. Fresh aesthetic design sets a new trend for green mobility

With a new design language and elevated premium well-being elegantly presented with BMW’s century-long manufacturing expertise, the new BMW iX3 stands confident as the new benchmark for luxury in the new era. The front/rear bumper covers are entirely rethought, which further emphasizes the half-closed double-kidney grille, adding to the dynamic and imposing look of the car. The 3D LED Adaptive Headlights and the 3D LED Rear Lights strike as more expressive. The new iX3’s exterior applies the exclusive blue accents, as well as offers New 20-inch Aerodynamic Rims in Pioneering variant, reducing the aerodynamic effectively. While retaining the authentic standard wheelbase body structure in BMW X3, the new BMW iX3 further reduces its gravity center by 7.5cm, and, coupled with a chassis finely tuned for sportiness, produces the authentic sheer driving dynamics.

The unique energy recuperation system of BMW iX3 offers remarkable electric driving pleasure. Customers can choose the D mode on the gear shifter, in which case the vehicle would behave similar to a combustion engine with the idle speed. B mode activates a “one-pedal driving experience” as well as the strongest energy recuperation; customers can control the acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle by simply stepping on or releasing the pedal.

It includes Active Guard with Approach Control Warning with Braking Function and Lane Departure Warning with active steering; as well as Active Cruise Control with Lane Changing Assistant and Traffic Jam Assistant. Parking Assistant Plus also includes Reverse Tracking Assist, allowing the vehicle to reverse the last 50 meters travelled along its original path—an industry innovation spearheaded by BMW, demonstrating BMW’s latest progress in automated driving technology.

Safety, reliability and high efficiency enables leadership in green mobility

Safe, reliable and with high energy-efficiency, the new BMW iX3 combines BMW’s latest electric technology, fully demonstrating BMW strong technology superiority in e-mobility. The fifth-generation of BMW eDrive features extraordinary battery, electric motor and electronic control system. The electric motor innovatively adopts Synchronized Excitation Technology, ensuring a peak torque at both low and high speeds. The rare earth-free design also minimizes the reliance on rare metal resources and achieves sustainability. The batteries in the new BMW iX3 are made of NCM-811 lithium-ion cells. Undergoing multiple safety design processes, the battery pack is integrated into the vehicle body and is able to withstand crash impact with a robustly designed structure. A total of 128 mechanical verification tests and 994 software function tests also ensure that the battery cells and the whole vehicle meet global regulations and stringent quality standards.

Reliability is not only a feature of the safe battery, more of the vehicle’s e-range. Owing to BMW’s technology prowess characterized by a highly integrated, lightweight, scalable and modular design, the new BMW iX3 achieves 93% electric motor efficiency and 500km of e-range (NEDC), with subsequently only 16.7kWh of energy consumption per 100km, continuing to cement its leadership position in the segment. On top of that, the vehicle shows precise remaining e-range based on various factors such as real-time energy consumption, driving mode, navigation route and road condition, providing customers with reliable mileage information for reference.

BMW ChargeNow offers BMW’s NEV customers a new option of wall-box and a free installation service. By the end of 2021, BMW will expand its public charging network to include over 360,000 high-quality charging pillars, including 150,000 DC fast-charging pillars. For transportation hubs in key cities, BMW also provides exclusive Park & Charge service, which has now extended to 5 airports and 13 popular shopping centers in 9 cities across the country. MyBMW App provides convenient one-stop digital charging service, supporting connected control and management of wall box and Park & Charge service. Compatibility with major public charging operators makes it possible for MyBMW App users to search pillars, charge the vehicle, make payments and review services on the App. Additionally, the new BMW iX3 is BMW’s first BEV model which benefits from the Easy Charge service. The service will be available on 50,000 charging pillars nationwide by the end of 2021. The new service makes charging ever easier and more convenient without having to scan a QR code with a phone. Plug in the charger and then the authentication and charging will be done automatically. As of the end of this August, the number of authorized BMW i dealers has reached 461, covering about 220 cities. With rigorous technical training, all authorized dealers can perform in-store repair on the fifth-generation high-voltage electric system, providing customers with credible and convenient aftersales experience.
