The New BMW X2 Dark/Light Edition Hits the Market

On April 19, BMW X2, the “cool” member of the BMW X family, once again leads the fashion trend by launching the new individual model—BMW X2 Dark/Light Edition. Sales of a total of five models are slated to begin with MSRP of RMB 285,800. to 329,800. Since entering the market in 2018, the BMW X2 has successfully fused an extrovert aura with sporting looks and modern lifestyle features, and carved out a very distinctive place for itself in the BMW X model family and beyond. And now the Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) is introducing Dark/Light editions with exclusive new color combinations, together with an updated front end, to freshen up the premium segment again. The athletic BMW X2 Dark/Light Edition will use its unique combination of individuality and fashion to bring new options for more active and outgoing customers in a young and young-at-heart target group.

Avant-garde Sensibility with Distinct Personality

The new model gives the BMW X2 an even more distinctive and visually appealing edge which is reflected in the striking decals and the sharp LED headlights. The BMW M mesh kidney grille, used in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé, brightens up the BMW X2. M sport seats with integral head restraints and a selection of other BMW M hallmarks like steering wheel and acceleration pedal heighten the car’s sporting impression. Another new feature is the projection of an X2 logo from the exterior mirror on the driver’s side and a mere opening of the door will be a source of great pleasure.

The cool and eye-catching BMW X2 Dark Edition features bold new decals in black as well as black trim on the wheels, low-key but luxurious. The blacked-out exterior mirror, LED headlights and exhaust tailpipe all reveal its cool style. In bold orange, the BMW X2 Light Edition shows an outgoing style. The wheels echo the orange decals which run through the bodywork in a striking way.

The BMW X2 Dark/Light Edition is available in a variety of colors. The BMW X2 Dark Edition is available exclusively in Sunset Orange and Misano blue, while the BMW X2 Light Edition in Sophisto Grey and Phytonic Blue. Besides, Mineral White is a perfect match to both black and orange decals. Powerful Engine and Intelligent Connectivity

The BMW X2 Dark/Light Edition is equipped with 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-charged engine which now gives it an output of 141kW. The all-wheel-drive model is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the front-wheel-drive model with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, and the combined fuel consumption can be as low as 6.2 litres per 100 kilometers.

The new model features eye-catching design and powerful engine as well as intelligent connectivity appealing to young customers. Human machine interaction can be achieved through three main ways. Natural Language Understanding (NLU) offers a convenient solution to human-vehicle voice communication. The 10.25-inch Control Display features a screen display similar to that of a user-friendly smartphone; the optional BMW Head-Up Display can project all important driving information and navigation/assistance system readouts onto the windscreen, where they appear in high resolution in the driver’s field of view, without disturbing the view of road ahead. The wireless Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife also allow seamless connection between the vehicle and the user’s smartphone.
