BMW Group continues product and market offensive at 2020 Chengdu Motor Show

Chengdu. On July 24, the 2020 Chengdu Motor Show takes place as scheduled. The BMW Group once again shows strong product offensive with a variety of BMW and MINI models. It demonstrates the latest innovative achievements from its “customer-centric” product strategy, as well as its confidence in the Chinese market.

The BMW 4 Series is premiered in China and starts pre-sales -- suggested price ranges from 365,000 RMB to 460,000 RMB. The new model represents BMW’s century-old excellence in production and resonates with Chinese customer demands. It has 24 high-value standard configurations, which integrate innovative aesthetics, premium sportiness and intelligent connectivity into one. The new MINI COUNTRYMAN is also premiered in China and announced the suggested market price ranging from 248,800 RMB to 399,800 RMB. The new model combines driving pleasure and iconic aesthetic design, and fully expresses innovations and entertaining elements, consolidating its position in the premium compact SUV segment.

The all-new BMW 4 Series Coupe, perfectly combines pioneering aesthetics and extreme handling performance

The Coupe has always played an important role for BMW: it represents the “the dream car” and is a BMW brand shaper. The all-new BMW 4 Series Coupe is born for those who love pioneering design and extreme handling performance. It sets the benchmark in the mid-size coupe segment.

The all-new BMW 4 Series has a bold and expressive exterior design. The prominent and larger vertical kidney is sharp and eye-catching. The athletic bodyline displays impressive aesthetics. The interior is clean and driver-centric as always, with clearly distinct function areas. The newly developed M Sport Seat is ergonomically designed, which imbues excellent supporting effect with two memory functions. The M Seat Belt promises drivers a safe and graceful journey.

In addition, technological upgrades in powertrain and chassis system give the all-new BMW 4 Series more driving pleasure. The new model is equipped with the latest BMW four-cylinder power unit with eight-speed Steptronic transmission. The chassis system is finely tuned to ensure coupe-like characteristics. A bespoke package of bracing elements increases body rigidity, giving better cornering performance. M options are also available including Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M Sport brakes with a choice of blue or red brake calipers, and M Sport differential with fully variable locking function in the rear differential.

At the same time, the all-new BMW 4 Series is equipped with the latest intelligent connectivity including BMW iDrive Operating System 7.0 with enlarged center display and cluster, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the new BMW Digital Key, etc. Industry-leading professional driving assistance system including features such as 50m Reversing Assistant and Lane Change Assist creates the best-in-segment premium intelligent user experience for its customers.

New MINI COUNTRYMAN, satisfying all needs with customized innovative design

As the only SUV in the MINI family, the MINI COUNTRYMAN offers free-spirit MINI fans individualized driving pleasure and refreshing options with practicality, functionality, sportiness and luxury. The new MINI COUNTRYMAN is fully upgraded to once again consolidates its position in the premium compact SUV segment.

The new LED headlights and new LED rear lights with Union Jack design infuse a hi-tech vibe to the exterior. The redesigned radiator grille has the hexagonal grid patterns that are typical of MINI and is surrounded by a slim, one-piece chrome frame. Rear lights in Union Jack design is another highlight to represent the model’s British origin. The newly added color Sage Green metallic displays MINI family’s typical aesthetics and characters.

The model’s interior is optimized as well, which encourages people to “try more and experience more.” At the same time, the latest connectivity system supports wireless connection with Apple CarPlay, which is a unique feature in its segment, Baidu CarLife as well as newly added Tmall Genie, which optimizes driving pleasure.

In addition, the drivetrain system is upgraded as well. Aside from 8-speech Steptronic transmission on ALL4 models, other models are standard equipped with 7-speed Steptronic transmission. MINI’s typical driving pleasure is promised no matter in cities or in the mountains.

Vibrant product lineup to infuse confidence in the premium auto market

In the past two years, the BMW Group has introduced more than 40 products to the Chinese market. This year, 17 new products will be introduced to the Chinese market. The vibrant product lineup will infuse confidence and vibrancy into the Chinese premium auto market.

2020 is BMW’s “Year of NEV” and “Year of Brand”. In the beginning of 2020, BMW 530Le E-range Extension and the all-new BMW X5 PHEV were launched to offer more options for premium NEV customers. In the first half of 2020, BMW NEV sales increased by 49.1% YoY in China. BMW 530Le E-range Extension has continued to lead the Chinese premium PHEV market with a total delivery of 10,650 units. In addition, upholding the “Year of Brand”, M is providing a variety of products for customers who are passionate about sporty driving pleasure. The all-new BMW X5 M and X6 M launched this April further strengthened BMW M’s innovative leading position in the high-performance market.

In the next half year, BMW will focus on electrification and digitalization. The first-ever BMW iX3 will bring Chinese customers more localized digital apps and services. It is BMW Group’s first model to be produced in China and exported to the world, also BMW Brilliance’s solid implementation of the “In China, for China, for the world” strategy.

The BMW Group presents a full lineup of its key models at this year’s Chengdu Motor Show. BMW’s diverse product lineup will bring more options for the customers in Chengdu, Sichuan and the West Region.
