The All-New BMW 3 Series Family Gathered at Guangzhou Auto Show,
320/330 Models Launched

(Guangzhou) On Nov.22nd, 2019, The BMW Group launched the All-new BMW 3 Series models including the 320i Sport line, 320Li M Sport Package, 330i M Sport Package Dark Edition and 330Li M Sport Package Dark Edition. The new models retain the renowned sportiness of the iconic BMW 3 Series while offering a new level of dynamic performance and exclusive luxury to Chinese customers. The 325 model variants of the 7th generation BMW 3 Series were launched in the Chinese market in June. The new model became the icon and was popular among Chinese customers with its brand new design language, outstanding driving dynamics, pioneering technology and luxurious quality.

Strength highlighted by the best-in-segment dynamic performance

The new model comes with a new 2.0T 4-cyliner engine as standard. As the top model variant of the all-new BMW 3 Series, its maximum output reaches up to 190Kw and the peak torque reaches 400 N.m.; the entry level 320 model’s maximum output can also reach up to 115Kw with a peak torque of 250 N.m.. The 330Li model boasts the fastest acceleration to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds with the standard xDrive system and the 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, bringing a more dynamic performance for customers. The 320Li model has an only 6.2L/100km fuel consumption thanks to the applications of innovative technologies.

The application of innovative hydraulic shock absorption technology and the perfect optimization of the front axle and five-link rear suspension allow the vehicle to operate more steadily on bumpy roads and ensure an accurate handling performance.

Being the benchmark of the premium sports sedan segment from all perspectives

The new model highlights pioneering innovative technology and next-level well-being. The entry level 320 model is equipped with 15 high value features as standard, including 12.3” digital instrumental cluster & 10.25” central touch screen, 18 inch wheels, Parking assistant system with rear view camera, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW iDrive 7.0, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Electric roof, Electrically adjustable front seats & driver’s seat with memory function, China tailor-made comfort seat, 3-zone air conditioner with PM2.5 filter, Galvanic package, Adaptive-LED Icon Light, Active air vent control, Dual tailpipe, etc.

On top of 325 model’s 18 standard features, the 330Li model is equipped with additional high value features including BMW Head-up Display, Active Cruise Control With Stop & Go Function, Telephony With Wireless Charging, BMW Driving Recorder, Wifi Hotspot, Free Wifi Data Stream. At the same time, the new model also comes with Tmall Genie, QQ Music and other China-exclusive car entertainment system, further enhancing the intelligent connectivity experience. Through the BMW-integrated Tmall Genie voice assistant, customers can access features such as “online radio”, “smart homes”, “encyclopedia”, “entertainment” and “common tools” via voice control. At the same time, Tmall Genie perfectly pairs with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which further satisfies customers’ demands for digitalized experiences.

The all-new BMW 3 Series sets a new benchmark in terms of performance and quality. The perfect car body is as much a highlight as the sophisticated chassis and efficient engine. The new model is manufactured using the latest BMW Group intelligent production technology, which is embedded throughout the four main manufacturing workshops: Press Shop, Body Shop, Paint Shop and Assembly. The latest technology, precise craftsmanship and highest quality standards ensure the outstanding premium product quality.

For example, the all-new BMW 3 Series has a more aggressive, athletic figure with a longer waistline. The new “sharp forming” pressing technique reduces the corner radius from 6mm to 3mm, creating sharper body lines that promote to a greater sense of movement. For the first time, SSD technology is applied in the production of the all-new BMW 3 Series. This fully-automated spraying technology in the Paint Shop contributes to a quieter interior space and more environmentally-friendly experience. The combination of the exquisite exterior car body and luxurious interior give drivers the perfect visual and acoustic aesthetics.

The superior dynamics of the all-new BMW 3 Series are based on the high rigidity and stability of the car body, which is precisely constructed using advanced joining technologies. The body is built from a range of selected materials including thermoformed steel, multi-phase steel, aluminum and other alloys. The fusing of the body requires more than 700 advanced automated robots and 14 different joining technologies. New technologies employed include remote laser welding, aluminum riveting, gluing and ball welding, with the total number of welding points more than 8,000. Thanks to the combination of advanced production systems, Industry 4.0 technologies and highly-skilled engineering experts, the all-new BMW 3 Series is produced to a world-class quality standard.

With the launch of 320 and 330 models from the all-new BMW 3 Series family, the new models will offer 4 packages, including Luxury Package (First Edition), Sport line, M Sport Package and M Sport Package Dark Edition with 6 paintworks offered including the exquisite and eye-catching Portimao Blue and Galvanic Gold, providing young Chinese customers with a more diverse sporty style and customized options.
