(Beijing/Shenyang) BMW Brilliance Automotive announced today the appointment of Dr. Franz Decker as Senior Vice President Technology & Manufacturing, effective from January 1st 2020. Dr. Decker is currently Vice President Strategy & Logistics of the company. His predecessor Mr. Daniel Schaefer will return to Germany to assume new responsibilities within BMW Group.
Dr. Decker joined BMW Group in 1998 and has gained extensive experience through leadership roles in production strategy and operations, planning and logistics, IT strategy, as well as company programmes on organisational development and flexibility management.
Since joining BMW Brilliance in September 2016, he has made important contributions to the successful development of the joint venture’s overall production strategy and logistics. These include raising total quality management through the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) project, successfully preparing new vehicle launches and steering new plant and facility construction projects at the company’s production base in Shenyang.
Dr. Decker graduated from the Technical University Munich with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Information Science and a doctoral degree in Production Management.

He will be responsible for the further success and high-quality development of our Shenyang production base – BMW Group’s largest production base worldwide.
