(Beijing) On Apr. 26th, following the debut of the all-new BMW X3 at Auto China 2018 in Beijing, BMW Brilliance officially announced its recommended retail price of 399,800 to 585,800 RMB with the start of orders being taken nationwide. First launched in 2003, BMW X3 is the pioneer and leader of the global premium mid-size SUV segment, winning over 1.5 million customers worldwide with outstanding performance and reliability in the past 15 years. Now this model welcomes its third generation, and will start local production in China. The all-new BMW X3 is redefining its market segment with comprehensive improvements in athletic styling, luxury experience, intelligent connectivity, driving pleasure and comprehensive quality, redefining the premium mid-size SUV concept created by its predecessors.

The R&D of all-new third generation BMW X3 is based on CLAR platform, which means it has great advantages in R&D concepts and new technology applications. Take the lightweight body as an example, engine hood, front shoulder, the two front doors are all made of aluminium, so are the locally produced versions. Hot-formed high strength steel over 1000 par is widely used. Compared to the previous generation, rigidity of the body is improved by 30%, with the weight of body-in-white also reduced by 55 kg. In addition, the innovative technology applications and premium features of all-new BMW X3 are on par with that of the new BMW 5 Series, surpassing public expectations of premium mid-size SUV.

Based on a clear local production plan, the all-new BMW X3 attaches great importance to the Chinese market during its R&D process, and takes Chinese customers’ aesthetics preferences into serious consideration in exterior and interior designs. Rich new technology applications are also offered. Compared to the previous generation, the all-new BMW X3’s wheelbase has been expanded by 54mm, and rear seats are specially designed for Chinese customers. Meanwhile, many luxury features which have not been seen in its segment before are also available. All efforts have been made with the aim of offering an authentic and ideal China exclusive model for local customers, with sheer driving pleasure and sublime luxury experience.

BMW X3 xDrive 25i and BMW X3 xDrive 30i are available at the initial phase after launch, and both the two models come with Luxury Line and M Sport package offerings. All-new BMW X3 is not only a completely new model, but also sets benchmarks in rich configurations and high value. It features around 20 high-end configurations including Light Carpet, 10.25” CID with touch screen, Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and automatic tailgate. There is also increased cushioning in rear seats, the largest panoramic sunroof in segment, adaptive LED headlights, and PM 2.5 air filter exclusively designed for Chinese customers. Sublime luxury choice with classic design of BMW X family

The exterior of all-new BMW X3 boasts robust and athletic styling, showing power and strength from any angle. The front end is more powerful compared to its predecessors. The larger "double kidney" grille has adopted an inverted trapezoid design and the BMW X family iconic hexagonal LED headlamps are equipped for the first time, making striking and imposing appearance. The sides also demonstrate powerful qualities, thanks to dynamic proportion, sharp waistline, more rugged hexagonal wheel arches and the Hofmeister kinks. The rear end also adopts fresh new and impressive design elements, such as full LED tail light with 3D design and large, dual free – formed tailpipes. In order to cater for different customers’ preferences and individualities, both Luxury Line and M Sport package are available, highlighting elegant and dynamic features and styles separately.

All-new BMW X3 boasts extraordinary interior design, underlining sublime luxury and quality. The cockpit is driver-oriented, and hexagonal center console echoes the exterior design, and newly designed interface with the menus displayed as large, individually configurable tiles, showing high-tech features. Sensatec center console and dedicated stitched pattern highlight the outstanding craftsmanship. High-end galvanic buttons offer excellent sense of touch and chrome-plating X logos can be found at several areas in the model. Other configurations include vernasca leather seats with active ventilation functions, panoramic roof with an area up to 1.12m2, ambient lighting with 11 color combinations, and high-end air fragrance system, etc. Great improvement of luxury experience for all senses once again underlines BMW’s understanding of Chinese customers’ demands.

All-round high-tech applications, mutual connectivity between people and the world

All-new BMW X3 integrates BMW‘s latest achievements in intelligent connectivity. It boasts the largest combined screen area in segment, including 12.3” TFT-LCD Screen with display changing upon different driving modes, new BMW iDrive interface, 10.25” CID with touch screen, and the HUD’s display area has been expanded 70% compared with previous generation system. In general, the new model offers 5 ways of human machine interaction, including iDrive, thermo sensitive buttons, touch screen, gesture control and NLU, adapting different customers’ use habits and offering excellent HMI experience.

All-new BMW X3 is the mobile terminal for mutual connection among people, vehicle and the world. The Wireless WiFi hotspot for up to 3 devices and wireless Apple CarPlayTM offers excellent digital experiences for young customers. Remote 3D View is also integrated, offering a “God’s eye” view at any time from a smart phone. The high-tech Display Key is adopted by BMW X family for the first time. Authentic driving pleasure, conquering all road conditions

All-new BMW X3 is completely new evolvement of its two successful predecessors, boasting classic features such as long wheelbase, short front overhang, as well as perfect 50:50 weight distribution. The rigidity of the body is improved by 30%, enabling more agile handling. The fine tuned new chassis features adaptive comfort suspension, offering fantastic driving and riding experience. And the Adaptive Driving Mode ensures every comfortable and pleasant journey with proactive shifting of driving mode under different road conditions, based on the system‘s self-learning of drivers’ driving mode.

Upgraded BMW B Series engines are more efficient and reliable. The output is 185kW and peak torque is 350Nm. Combining powerful engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission featuring smoothness and high efficiency, BMW X3 xDrive 30i accelerates from 0 - 100km/h in only 6.8 seconds. The xDrive has been comprehensively optimized and becomes lighter and more compact. BMW xDrive allows for fully variable torque distribution between the front and rear axles, with the range between 0 -100%. With highest ground clearance in segment at 216mm, as well as highest maximum approach angle of 25.6°, this model boasts excellent trafficability, offering customers with great confidence and pleasure under all road conditions.

As the first BMW vehicle equipped with BMW Personal Copilot, all-new BMW X3 also sets benchmarks in intelligent driving in segment. This system includes the majority of BMW’s current innovative and intelligent driving assistant functions. For instance, the latest generation Active Cruise Control (ACC) has integrated lane keeping and traffic jam assistant, which can be activated to support the driver in monotonous traffic situations with a speed range from 0 up to 210 km/h. Evasion aid and crossing traffic warning can decrease and avoid incidents during driving and parking processes.
