The New BMW 3 Series Explores Driving Limits on Ice

(YAKESHI, Mar. 8) From March 5 to 8, a fleet of new BMW 3 Series staged an incredible snow and ice driving show and training courses by BMW Driving Experience in Hailar, Inner Mongolia. BMW 3 Series has always been a paragon of the sheer driving pleasure and stayed true to the driver as always. Together with BMW Driving Experience this time, the new BMW 3 Series is able to bring participants better understanding of the car and a safer journey of enjoying the sheer driving pleasure.

As an industry-leading driving training program, BMW Driving Experience has never stopped refining its driving training courses since it was launched. The instructors, in order to showcase the excellent handling of the new BMW 3 Series and improve drivers’ ability to control the car in complicated road conditions, have devised multiple ice road challenges for participants, which allowed them to not only explore the ultimate performance of the vehicles, but also enjoy the sheer driving pleasure offered by the new BMW 3 Series.

On the mirror-like icy lake surface, the new BMW 3 Series, with an ideal axle load distribution of 50:50, becomes as agile as an Olympic Figure skater. With the assistance of the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) system, the driver is able to drifting elegantly, leaving behind the beautiful tracks of the vehicle on ice. The powerful Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system makes the driver more confident by allowing the driver to brake effectively in emergency situations without losing control of the vehicle.

Excellent power system is another important factor that determines the ice driving performance of a car. The new BMW 3 Series is powered by the world-class B-Series TwinPower Turbo engine paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shift, ensuring the strong but smooth power output. If the car is equipped with the intelligent all-wheel drive system BMW xDrive, the driver can drive with even more boldness as which can proactively and swiftly distributes drive power between front and rear axle in less than 0.1 second, thus ensuring a well-controlled safe driving on the ice.
