The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is officially launched with MSRP starting from RMB 204,800

(SHANGHAI) On Feb. 27th, five model variants of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan were launched in Shanghai, including the all-new BMW 118i Lifestyle, Sport, Line Package, BMW 120i Line Package and BMW 125i Sport, with retail price range from RMB 204,800 to RMB 318,000. Attractive financial package is also introduced with down payment starting from RMB 41,000, and monthly installment starting from RMB 888.

Dr. Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Sales and Marketing BMW, Sales Channels BMW Group attended the launch event, and said: “China is our largest sales market, accounting for more than 20% of our global sales. With all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan, we are transferring from ‘introducing’ products into the Chinese market to ‘developing’ products for the Chinese market, from ‘production in China’ to ‘creation for China’. This way, we can better meet the needs of our customers here.”

Sporty and stylish design

The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is stylish and sporty in appearance, creating high profile attraction. In a split-style design look at the front of the double kidney grille and headlights, the new “halo” hexagonally shaped headlights are fixated with a focused look: the characteristic headlight “eyebrow” design that draws great attention. Meanwhile, LED is adopted on the headlights, daytime running lights, turning lights, as well as rear lights. An eye-catching technical appeal which becomes standard for four model variants. Further enhanced sportiness look with the 3-parted air intake at the front apron which is inspired by M design comes as a standard feature on all variants. Looking at the rear of the car, the unique BMW L-shaped taillights design gives a youthful exterior tribute. The largest panoramic sun roof of its class, with 0.7 m², is now equipped as standard on four variant models.

The exterior colors of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan greatly underline the expressive personality of young customers. Ten stunning exterior colors are offered with Luminous Gold exclusively for this model. Estoril Blue is another stylish option, a color that has never been applied to any other BMWs except on MSP models.

High-tech configurations

Comfort access is one of the major highlight features on the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan. Functions like the automatic tailgate opening, Start/Stop engine function makes the daily life much easier. Full-color Head-Up Display is also a unique configuration featured in the segment.

BMW highly efficient air filter is offered as standard, which able to filter 99% of PM 2.5 harmful particles in the air inside the car. Sport and Sport Line Package models are featured with sport seats in the front, heightened dynamism with enhanced riding comfort. Comprehensive noise optimization actions have been taken for the windshield, air conditioning, tires and even the car brake.

Typical BMW driving pleasure

At the heart of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan lies the latest BMW highly-efficient B Series engine, with a combination of the new six-speed and eight-speed Steptronic transmission, the car offers strong dynamic performance. Greater transmission ratio range offers an extensive max torque output extent, and the peak torque comes at 1250 rpm, and extending to nearly 5000rpm continuously.

The drivetrain unit is very powerful, taking the all-new BMW 125i as an example, 2.0T engine gives an output performance of 231 horsepower and 350 Nm torque which only takes the car 6.8 sec to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, offering great and exciting push back feeling at linear acceleration.

Besides strong power unit, all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is also equipped with BMW’s exclusive features. DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), allows the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan to increase wheel spins at certain range, offering great dynamics. Performance Control is a standard feature on all model variants, intelligent braking performed on the inside of the wheel, effectively coping with the understeering of the front wheel. The Driving experience control system comprises the SPORT, COMFORT, ECO PRO modes, the driver can easily switch the mode he or she likes to drive in.

Cutting-edge connectivity

BMW ConnectedDrive is standard on all variants of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan, and with the basic services like emergency call free of charge for ten years. BMW ConnectedDrive Premium Package is offered on the top models. The popular Concierge Service can provide exclusive 24 hours of real-time information to the driver anytime.

Connectivity is being expanded to more mobile terminals, making BMW a truly intelligent car to drive! BMW Connected officially entered China in Dec. 2016, customers of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan can operate and interact with their cars easily by using the APP on their smart phones.
