(Beijing) On Nov. 18th, the BMW Group presented the world premiere of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan at Auto Guangzhou 2016. The first BMW compact sedan strategically developed on the quest to fit the young generation group who is driven by having the charisma of a young identity: design, handling, connectivity, and versatility. The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is the most sporty compact sedan of BMW for young self-expression.

The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is designed and developed based on BMW global platform with the objective to meet the car demands and usage behavior of the young generation customers in China in a best way. The car continues the heritage of typical BMW sporty design, outstanding driving pleasure and cutting-edge connectivity, while at the same time offering optimized comfort, convenience, as well as enhanced premium quality. The rear seats for example have added extra thickness on both the seat cushion and backrest. Owing to the advantage of the structure form of “Hofmeister-Kink”, the back row now has even better and enhanced quality and comfort, and also especially convenient for passengers to get on and off.

BMW, as one of the world’s most successful premium vehicle automakers, has started the planning and development of compact segment since many years ago, which is now the fast growing segment in the automobile market. The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan will be the fifth locally-produced BMW model in China, and this will open a new chapter to the long-term commitment in the country. Youthful design: my style

The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan inherits the same classic design identical to the BMW family, such as the double kidney grille, double round headlights, long bonnet, short overhangs, “Hofmeister-Knick” design, and enhanced shoulder lines on the side. The design of the new car speaks of a young look – the car body connects smoothly with the coupe-like roof line, delivering an elegant and dynamic exterior harmony. The higher bonnet and trunk lid gives the car a chunky stance and powerful sporty appearance, while the three-parted air intake in the front apron is also uniquely featured only on the BMW M models before. The newly-designed hexagonal LED headlights provide significantly improved illumination of the road during night time or in bad weather conditions. With the striking and inspirational L-shaped taillights working together, the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan visually looks highly dynamic and cool.

The interior concept carries the similar exterior design idea. The layered dashboard ideally brings out a dynamic image and underlines the modern luxury sense. The Start & Stop button, electric brake, full color Head-Up Display, 8.8-inch LED central screen, BMW iDrive system are all fully equipped. The driver-oriented cockpit design emphasizes on the driving fun from a sporty sedan.

Available with up to ten different colors, the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan adds more colors to the life of young individuals, whether in a stunning “Estoril Blue” or the exclusive color for China, “Luminous Gold”.

Youthful dynamism: my speed

BMW has put great effort and focus in delivering the great driving pleasure for the young customer group in China, they naturally have this high demand when opting a premium car. Based on this quest, the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is a very dynamic sedan in its class. At its heart of performance, BMW’s latest 1.5T and 2.0T engines with cutting-edge BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, equipped respectively with a six and eight-speed Steptronic transmission, promising a responsive, efficient, smooth performance of the Sheer Driving Pleasure byword. In addition, servotronic system ensures each and every turn of the all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is precise and sharp.

COMFORT, SPORT, ECO PRO are three different driving modes offered to adjust the engine, steering, fuel economy levels of the car. The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan offers an enhanced interior space capability with 2.67 meters in the wheelbase. Passengers in the front and back can sit comfortably, and the rear seats at the back can be folded in 40:20:40 to adjustably provide extra roominess. The 0.7m² panoramic roof gives a delightful atmosphere, and the highly-efficient air filter inside the car offers filtrated fresh air for all passengers.

The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is a great car to take yourself or some friends for a trip or journey. The car’s comfort access system allows its tailgate to open automatically freeing your hands easily. An extra storage hidden underneath the luggage compartment can be used to store more luggage, personal or fragile things.
