(Shanghai) Today, BMW China announced that the all-new BMW 1 Series was officially launched in China. As the world's only rear-wheel drive premium hatchback saloon in the compact segment, the all-new BMW 1 Series brought three five-door variants of two displacements to the Chinese market. They are the BMW 120i MT, BMW 120i AT and BMW 130i AT.

The power units driving the BMW 1 Series apply many cutting-edge technologies including the BMW unique Valvetronic and Double-VANOS to ensure lower fuel consumption while providing more dynamic power at the same time. This with its six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes boasting rapid and accurate response, harmonious weight distribution with approximately 50:50 on the front and rear wheels, and chassis and suspension with the most advanced technologies, allow the driver at ease to maneuver the surging power at will and to enjoy maximum sheer driving pleasure.
The BMW 130i AT is driven by a 3.0-liter light straight-six petrol engine with max output of 190 kW/258 hp. Its acceleration 0-100 km/h is in only 6.3 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). The average fuel consumption of the BMW 130i AT under the EU standard is 9.2 liters/100 km.

The BMW 1 Series five-door came to the market in 2004. Perfectly integrating the functionality of a hatchback saloon and BMW typical driving characteristics, the BMW 1 Series set up new benchmark in its segment. The all-new BMW 1 Series introduced into the Chinese market is the lifecycle impetus launched in 2007.
The market price of the BMW 120i MT, 120i AT and 130i AT is RMB 273,000, 288,000 and 445,000 respectively.
