(Shenyang.) Today, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. donated RMB 500,000 to Shenyang Education Bureau to award 260 outstanding teachers at Shenyang Teachers Day Conference. Shenyang Municipal government held an awarding ceremony for the first groups of winners of 2007 "BMW Outstanding Teachers Award". Ms. Wang Ling, Vice Mayor of Shenyang Municipal City, granted the stele of "Honoring Teachers, Benefiting Community" to BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.
The "BMW Outstanding Teachers Award" was set up in August 2007 by BWM Brilliance Automotive Ltd. According to the plan, BMW Brilliance will donate RMB 500,000 to Shenyang Education Bureau in 2007 and 2008 respectively to award the excellent teachers in Shenyang, including experts and teachers from high schools, elementary schools and kindergartens.
Teachers are the instructors of our soul, and have the responsibility of shaping minds and conveying the mission of the future. There is an old Chinese saying that says, "It takes ten years to grow trees but a hundred years to educate people." This year is seeing the 23rd Teachers' Day. In this great day, as a responsible corporate citizen, BMW Brilliance established "BMW Outstanding Teachers Award" to encourage excellent teachers in Shenyang and appreciate their huge contribution to the development of local education cause and cultivation of talented youth.
