Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited ("Brilliance China") and its operating subsidiaries (together the "Brilliance Group") is one of the leading automotive and automotive component manufacturers in China.
Brilliance China was incorporated in Bermuda on 9 June, 1992 with shares and ADSs listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (stock code: 1114) and The New York Stock Exchange Inc. (stock code: CBA), respectively. For the year ended 30 June, 2005, Brilliance China has a total market capitalization of US$640 million and total assets of approximately US$2,200 million.
Brilliance Group is a prominent industrial enterprise in China and its principal business is the manufacture and sale of minibuses and sedans in China through its 51% subsidiary, Shenyang Brilliance JinBei Automobile Co., Limited ("Shenyang Automotive"). Shenyang Automotive is the leading manufacturer and distributor of minibuses in China and is also the only minibus manufacturer in China with access to Toyota technology. In May 2002, Shenyang Automotive obtained the approval from the Chinese government to produce and sell the "Zhonghua" sedan in the PRC. Shenyang Automotive is located in Shenyang, the capital of the Liaoning Province and the commercial center of the northeastern region of China. The Brilliance Group also operates a number of automotive components manufacturers producing engines, automotive windows, window moulding and stripping, automotive wirings and spare parts, etc. in China.
For the year ended 31 December, 2004, the Brilliance Group sold over 72,600 minibuses and sedans in China and reported sales and net profit of US$806 million and US$6 million, respectively. As at 31 December, 2004, the Brilliance Group employed approximately 9,112 employees.
